Our team in Berlin supports innovative technology companies from the field of Health and Industry digitization in their expansion in Germany. Our goal is to introduce the most outstanding innovations to the German market first, and in the next phase with a co-investment boost onto the global market.


Startup ecosystem


In recent years the German government has made serious efforts to turn Berlin into the leading innovation and startup hub of Europe. The largest accelerator networks and incubators of the world, along with German international companies have launched several sector-specific programs in Berlin. The Deutsche Bahn, the Charité, Siemens, Daimler or BMW operates offices in Berlin, furthermore, other notable companies also have headquarters in Berlin like Axel Springer, Bombardier or KPMG.

With around 500 new tech startups per year, Berlin is Germany’s capital city also for startups. Berlin has a fast-growing startup scene and a successful infrastructure for financing and funding with more than 3 billion annual VC investment. With numerous incubators, accelerators and co-working spaces, the city provide optimal conditions for entrepreneurs from around the world.

Berlin is internationally recognized as a startup hub and as a breeding ground for creative people who want to change the world.

Berlin-Brandenburg has 130 hospitals with more than 35,000 beds, and 21,000 Companies with 360,000 Employees earning 23 billion Euro in revenue. The largest university hospital in Europe is Charité. With approximately 300 medical technology and more than 240 biotechnology companies, 30 pharmaceutical companies and more than 130 clinics, the capital and surrounding area is one of the most important locations for the healthcare industry in Germany and Europe. Companies such as Bayer, Bausch + Lomb, B. Braun Melsungen, Berlin-Chemie, Biotronik, Pfizer, Sanofi and Takeda are all based in Berlin.

Industry 4.0

As a modern industrial City with tradition, Berlin offers attractive conditions for resettlement or expansion. Thanks to the traditional research landscape and vibrant high-tech startup scene, Berlin offers excellent conditions to increase the efficiency of networking related to industrial production. Berlin is currently involved in several projects within the scope of sub-projects of international and national Industry 4.0 programs. All the significant players from the capital have collaborated in these programs. This means over 700 industrial companies with around 107,000 employees and nearly 25 billion Euro in sales, over 50% of which took place abroad.

Berlin`s most important industrial export partner is the USA. Berlin has disposed more than €10 billion (gross) to create value for this sector. The German capital provides 4,450 hectares of free construction sites for industrial and commercial purposes in an excellent location. Four cooperating Fraunhofer Institutes, a large concentration of university and non-university research institutions, colleges and universities work closely together with the Berlin industrial companies to find the answers to future challenges of industry 4.0.
